    Paint Party

    A big thank you to all who came down and helped give the Clubhouse a lick of paint over the weekend, it couldn't have been done without the team. Lots was achieved, painting the main room, toilets and downstairs vestibule along with some running repairs to plumbing, new extractor fans for the toilets and the most pleasant surprise of all, discovering the original floor varnished and in great condition underneath the carpet to the front of the Clubhouse.     Push the Boat Out Day

    Adult Training Programme

    Adult Training Programme The club is now taking bookings for our 2017 Adult Training Programme We are offering two day beginner and improver courses at Killington, near Sedbergh. The courses are taught by a qualified RYA instructor using a Wayfarer, a stable sailing dinghy. Our instructor can also offer ad hoc sailing lessons on the estuary at Arnside by prior arrangement Beginners 19/21 April, 27/28 May, 1/2 July, 5/6 August Improvers  17/18 April,  6/7 May, 29/30 August Cost £80 per two day course For more details and application form contact arnsidesailingclubtraining@gmail.com

    Cadet Programme 2017

    Cadet Programme 2017 The club is now taking bookings for our free 2017 Cadet Programme. The programme is made up of,  Beginner Low Tide Sessions, Improver High Tide Sessions A four day RYA Youth Course at Killington, near Sedbergh (31 July – 3 Aug) As a result of successful grant applications, the club has new cadet boats.     Cadets Sail on the High Tide

    After 5 low tide training days including a Capsize Course, our brave cadets set sail this weekend on their first High Tide experience.     Weekend Sailing Course Arnside Sailing Club are proud to offer a series of professionally lead sail training days in our Club Wayfarer on the Estuary at Arnside. Places are limited to three people per session, and will last around six hours spread across two days at a cost of £60.     Low Tide Tasty Day - A Success!

    End of May Bank Holiday was a Scorcher! Over the Saturday and Sunday we taught 13 Cadets from 8 to 15 the basics of sailing. The light winds and shallow water made it ideal for absolute beginners to be out on their own in the Toppers practicing low speed tacking and Gybing. We are organsing Follow On Weekends for July and August. Sat 16 July start 2pm Sun 17 July start 3pm Sat 13 Aug start 2 pm Sat 14 Aug start 2pm

    Hobie Cat Rescue

    Last weekend on the flooding 10m tide one of our members unfortunately capsized their Hobie Dragoon Catamaran too close to the Viaduct and didn't have time to right the boat before the strong current dragged it under the Viaduct. Our Safety boat attempted to tow the Up-turned Cat away from the danger but with the sails and one hull caught by the flood it was an impossible task. The sailor was retrieved from the stricken vessel before it was cast lose to fend for itself as it was sucked under the viaduct. The flow of the water…
