At the end of June the Sailing Club ran taster watersports days for 74 children from Arnside National Primary School and 18 from Burton Morewood Primary School. The children from Arnside Primary did paddle boarding and sailing at Arnside. There was a lot of splashing around in the water. Whilst the children from Burton Morewood enjoyed a day’s sailing at Killington.
Alasdair Simpson for the Club said “A big thank you to our instructors and volunteers who made the dayss happen, putting on two fabulous events for local children. The Sailing Club is now a charity, RYA OnBoard Club and AALA licensed. Running events for local children is in accordance with our charitable aims of promoting watersports and giving young people a chance to take up watersports.
