Feasibility Study for New Changing Facilities

A feasibility study for changing facilities in our boar park has been carried out by Critical Mass Architects. There will a talk on the feasibility at our AGM on Saturday 28th January at 2 pm. There is still a long way to go if we go ahead with the facilities, not least funding and planning. However high quality changing facilities will help the club grow and propose in the future and will be increasingly what people expect. They would enable us to become a RYA Training Centre at Arnside as well as Killington and offer more activities for youth.

The architects designed a new clubhouse for Stoke Gabriel Boating Association on the Dart Estuary in Devon, which like our boat park is located on a beach with no road access. Since Stoke Gabriel’s new clubhouse was completed in 2016 they have doubled their membership to 800 members significantly increasing their training and teaching capability. They now have over 50 club  boats including sailing dinghies and kayaks.  40% of their members live in Stoke Gabriel.
