Arnside Classic Boat Regatta – Sun 4, Mon 5 June 2023

Arnside Classic Boat Regatta will take place on Sun 4 and Mon 5 June 2023.

If you want to a boat into the Regatta you can book via https://widget.eola.co/1222/activities/arnside-classic-boat-regatta

There is boat launching from the Promenade slipways for towable boats. Overnight storage should be available. For bigger boats willing to take the challenge of sailing up to Arnside the spring tide heights are 9 metres., which should give a depth of water in the main channel of around 3 metres at high tide and 2 metres elsewhere (not guaranteed). Last year Hearts of Oak a 34 Morecambe Bay Prawner came up for the event.

The estuary at Arnside is overlooked by the Lakeland Fells. Arnside has a long maritime history. The estuary was originally the port for Kendal. The Victorians held regattas. Crossfields built Morecambe Bay Prawners,  yachts and dinghies including Arthur Ransome’s Swallow and Coch-y-bonndhu .

Our clubhouse will be open afterwards for socialising.

The event is being run jointly with the OGA, the association for gaff rig sailing.
