Arnside Sailing Club is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (Charity No 1200999)
Our charitable objects are
- To promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities and equipment for water sports, including but not limited to sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and canoeing, and organising a programme of water sports activities.
- The promotion of the maritime heritage of Arnside village for the public benefit by the preservation, repair, and maintenance of historic buildings and craft in Arnside.
- To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disability, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life.

The Club is run by its members who each year elect the Sailing Club Trustees and Other Club Officers at the Annual General Meeting at the end of January.
We have a trading subsidiary Old Customs House Arnside Ltd, which runs the bar and music nights. The subsidiary donates any profits to the Charity tax free,

Friends of Crossfield Yacht Severn
The Club has a related charity "Friends of Crossfield Yacht Severn" which coordinates the sailing of Severn, helps maintain and fund her. Severn was built in Arnside in 1912.

Health and Safety Policy
We review safety across all our activities on a regular basis. We seek to reduce risks by identifying hazards, putting in mitigation measures before events occur, recording incidents, following best practise, by providing safety equipment and running training. Whilst we cannot reduce all risk, we will strive to identify and deal with safety to reduce risks to the lowest possible level. People taking part in club activity also have responsibility for their own safety and a duty of care to others.

Arnside Sailing Club is committed to safeguarding all children, young people and adults at risk taking part in its activities from abuse and harm and ensuring their wellbeing. Arnside Sailing Club recognises that the safety, welfare and needs of children, young people and adults at risk are paramount and that any person, irrespective of their age, disability, race, religion or belief, marital status, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or social status, has a right to protection from discrimination, victimisation and abuse.

The Sailing Club's Annual General Meeting takes place each year on the last Saturday of January each year
All members are entitled to come and vote.
