Simon Armitage, the Poet Laureate and his band, LYR played at the Sailing Club on Sunday 24th October.
Land Yacht Regatta (LYR) set Simon’s spoken vocals to music by Richard Walters and Patrick Pearson. The band released the debut album “Call in the Crash Team” in 2020. The concert was promoted by Moochin’About a boutique music label in partnership with the Sailing Club. It was part of a national tour taking in major cities such as Glasgow and Leeds.
